... any sentient intelligent non-human life-form regardless of nature or ultimate origin that may be presumed responsible forUnidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) is the U.S. Government's relatively newer, catch-all term for what is better known to the general public as Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), and includes Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) and Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs).The U.S. National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023 defines Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) as:
- (A) airborne objects that are not immediately identifiable;
- (B) transmedium objects or devices; and
- (C) submerged objects or devices that are not immediately identifiable and that display behavior or performance characteristics suggesting that the objects or devices may be related to the objects described in subparagraph (A).
Transmedium objects or devices also are defined as:
- (A) observed to transition between space and the atmosphere, or between the atmosphere and bodies of water; and
- (B) not immediately identifiable.

In general however, the term Non-Human Intelligence (NHI) continues to evolve as our understanding of life and intelligence grows. Please note that in other contexts, the definition can include many other topics such as Artificial/Machine Intelligence and Animal Intelligence.
